For me it hasn’t been a real competition, maybe because I am a professional figure-skater and my competitions are left in the past. However, the sense of competition energizes, ads an interest to everyone, to non-professionals and professionals as well. I am not so much surprised that we are winners as with our recent routines we earned only perfect scores and got positive feedbacks. Each of pairs deserves to be winners for a hard and brave work with discipline of excellence. All, Katia Strizhenova, Gediminas, hmmm who else, all… !
Gediminas (kissing): This is the most beautiful lady at the show!
You see how they are happy and I am glad if we have succeeded to add a joy in life by skating. For sure, the non professionals gave us a lot of joy! Because they are actors, such a distinguishing people from athletes who usually hide real emotions. Actors are open and emotional. It’s a good combination to perform on ice! It’s just wonderful!
(Demonstrating the medal) Here is a small skate and the Kremlin. It’s very beautiful. On the other side, here is the Russian Figure Skating Federation’s emblem written in English and Russian. The Federation grants us! Nothing is mentioned about the Ice Age show. It’s for make people to believe that it isn’t a show but a reality.
Of course, at real competitions there are only four minutes to take a chance in two days. Here has been a long distance and a lot of obstacles have been to overcome, especially for beginners, i.e. pain in the legs from learning skating, changing boots like Egor was, getting a sort of injuries,… It has been obviously a long period of time that at some moment I felt participated in a race, such a marathon where from all of us needed the leap of faith. We have had night practises, sometime a very short time for preparing a new routine. Everything was hard but however, we had known from the outset what expect and we tried enjoying. Those who didn’t enjoy, they left the game and didn’t strive for victory.
