I am so sorry to say bad news...
But on Russian forums they state Katia's father has died...
if it's true, what a pity

me too, I pray God that was a mistake/misprint etc...
i try to find some info about this all day long, but nothing is written in the internet...

That's really sad. I don't think he would have been much older than 60. Katia's mother is only 57 I believe...she was 20 when she had Katia.

Sad news for the Gordeeva family.
Yes I was thinking about his age and he must have been in his early to mid sixties. It may be some time before we hear more on this but thoughts are with Katia and her family.

Cerise - were you able to discover exactly where this information has come from? I hope so much that it is in error and just one of those unfortunate inaccuracies that pops up now and then. Let's hope for the best until we hear something definite.

This story was posted without a link on Sunday on the Russian G&G forum. Two people have responded asking for a link, but as of now, one has not been provided. So as of right now, this has not been confirmed.

How incredibly sad for the whole family if this is true. I choose to believe it's an internet rumor. It seems pretty fishy to post big news like that without a link.

I cannot find any information about Katya's dad on Russian internet... I hope, it's just some misunderstanding. It's hard to believe that someone posted such things deliberately ...

the only intention of posting this here was to find out whether Nancy or Su-jan can get some info from Katia's or Ilya's press-centre. Is it possible to call some of their representatives? I do worry so much about Katia's family...As well as all of you, I know it.

I also really hope it's a silly rumour / misunderstanding...

As I don't have any connections with Ekaterina's agents we can only wait and see if there are articles on that.

I did check the obituaries and didn't find any entries on Gordeev. It's a good sign, I guess.
