November 1995. 28 years old skater Sergei Grinkov is training in Lake Placid, NY. On the ice he suddenly losses conscience - it's heart attack, arrived later med. crew announces death.
Ekaterina Gordeeva losses husband, partner on the ice, with whom in pairs skating she twice took Olympic Gold, father of her 3 years old Dasha, and she thinks at that moment, she losses her future as well.
Gordeeva was 24 then. "I was ready to give up - admitted Katia to People magazine much later - but I've decided to keep skating for myself". Friends, which Gordeeva has a lot among her colleagues, do everything so she can stay in big sport, understanding that it might be the only way for her to win over the grief. She's invited to join "Stars on Ice". Scott Hamilton, a skater and a close friend of Ekaterina used to say "On the ice she could express her feelings, and it gave her soul energy and helped her to return to normal life".
Second wind Gordeeva had as a single skater. She wrote two books, started her perfume line. The show was a huge success in 63 cities of the world. Later, Gordeeva is seen in the company of Ilia Kulic, promising young athlete, who was called Russian sensation in figure skating. Soon Gordeeva officially announces that she is dating Kulic. And not too long ago, a baby girl Liza was born - daughter of Gordeeva and Kulic. Now Gordeeva lives with her new husband and children in USA. She's happy. But some say, that all walls in her house are covered with pictures of Grinkov.
