Hey all! The link to the post of Katia's appearance in Chicago was great and gives the jist but I have a couple of other things to share and some corrections to note. First, and foremost, I guess if you ask Katia questions she will answer them! Ok, from Katia herself, she and Ilia ARE married!!!! I didn't have the nerve to ask but I was talking to these ladies behind me and they wondered and I said I didn't know but wouldn't ask, but they asked anyway! After they got done talking to her I asked if Katia said when and the lady went back to ask! If was hilarious!! Katia said they got married 5 days before Liza was born...so June 10, 2001. Well, I guess that puts it to rest...from Katia's own mouth!
I think the other big error on the first post was that the lady with Katia was her manager, but it was corrected by another saying it was the designer of the piece, and several other Lenox pieces, Siobhan Pendergast.
I had a differing about Katia's talkativeness...she talked to me for a few minutes. She asked about my favorite performances and she reflected on those I mentioned. I asked her about the girls and she said that are really good and we talked about the fact that Daria will be in 4th grade next year and I teach 4th grade. I asked her about SOI and she said she will not be touring with them anymore but may be doing a show her or there...so watch for her, you never know if she will be there! I just appreciated the fact that she was willing to just chat for a minute or two and neither she nor the workers rushed us through.
In contradiction to what the one poster said tho I thought there were a great deal of people there! There were constant people in line the entire two hours. I even overheard two exects talking about how they never imagined this type of turn out!
Gosh, what else. I too saw Katia walk out of the lobby and there were three women that escorted her as far as I saw so maybe they left when the other girl saw her get into her car.
Gosh, I know there's more, it was unreal!!! Katia was surprised tho that I would come over 5 hours just to see her. I think she gets a little overwhelmed still. I have attached some photos to give you a glimps. I will write more if I remember any important details. It was a great day!!! Oh, I almost forgot one of the best parts. I was getting a personal picture of her signed and she asked if I wanted my name on it!!!!!! I didn't think she personalized her autographs but that is so awesome!!!!!!!! To have a "personal" message with my name on it from her!:-)
