VIKTORY FOR KIDS

I went to Viktory on Ice and katia and Ilia both skated there. They also both came out at the end when most of the audience had left to take a group picture with other skaters. I stuck around to watch of course. Ilia and Katia seemed very connected and very cute and tendor to each other as they were waiting for the photographer to get ready. They definitely seemed like a couple. They weren't hanging all over each other or never leaving each other's side -- but that's true of all the married couples there -- including Katia's parents. But they definitely had their together time amonst the big crowd of skaters and they definitely looked like a couple -- meaning even if you didn't know they were together, you'd probably assume it based on how they interacted. (I would say the setting up, taking of photos, and then just chitchatting and fun skating after lasted about 30 minutes -- so there was lots of time to observe.) Ilia by the way struck me as very grown up. Very much an adult. Not some kid, and I think of him as young, so I guess I was kind of expecting someone less adultish. But he definitely seemed like a married man. emphasizing "man".

opps, I meant to include that when they were actually posing for pictures, katia stood in front of Ilia and he alternated between wresting his hands on her hips, wresting his hands on her shoulders, and wrapping his arms around her waist. He was the one who was constantly reaching for her and touching her -- in this part of the evening.

Also, I mentioned this when I wrote up a report, but I'll mention it again. During the final sequesnce, each skater would come out, do a trick and then stand somewhere along the rim of the ice. Ilia and Katia happened to end up not standing next to each other -- I think they were separated by one person. Anyway, as the next skaters came out, the slowly inched toward each other. First Katia would move closer to Ilia, by like a foot. Then Ilia would move closer to Katia, by like a foot. And so on and so on until they were standing next to each other. It was soooooooo adorable. and seemingly equally motivated.

Good grief! I keep forgetting details. Okay, in that finale. When they finally managed to be standing next to each other, Ilia put his arm around Katia's shoulders.
