STARS ON ICE (DENVER) by Kathy I know Xrystal and others are
going to do a really great job telling all about Denver, so I'll just
mention a few things that stood out for me.
First of all, Katia looked beautiful. Truly. Does the girl ever age?
Her first number was the scarf number. Amazing. Definately better live,
if that's possible. Unfortunately, she went for the double axel and
missed by about 1/2 rotation. She landed on her rear end. But I'm
conviced that by the end of her run, she'll be nailing it every night.
For her second number, she skated to Sunday kind of Love. And it was
beautiful. I wish that her programs would never end.
But my absolute favorite part of the entire show was the finale. It was
so obvious that Ekaterina was having a really hard time with the timing
and even maybe remembering where she was supposed to be or what was
coming next. It sounds weird that I should find this entertaining, but
she had an enormous smile on her face the whole time and was even
laughing with some of the other cast members about it. It seemed as if
she was really happy to be out there with the whole cast. And was having
a lot of fun being part of the group.
Again, I'm sure in the next few shows, she'll have it down. But it was
so endearing to see her open emotions about the whole situation. Very
sweet.
The rest of the show was awesome. Studs on Ice. Unbelievable, the amount
of male beauty in the show now. :) And really liked the guys numbers and
the "Dance" number with Yuka and the guys.
