STARS ON ICE (CHICAGO)

Hi everyone~
Well I have not
seen the show yet but I am starting a review cause so far it has been a
great day.
I had skating practice so I went to that in the morning. I got home
about 11ish and then I got ready and did somethings around the house. at
12:30 is I headed over to the allstate arena with my husband and son.
When we got there we saw three busses. I thought that we were to late
and would not get a chance to see any skaters. I went in the box office
and he told me to go and ask at the adminstrative desk. So I headed over
there. He told me to go and talk to a man named Tom buy the underground
tunnel (where they sneek the skaters out after a show). I found Tom and
he told me that the busses that were out there were for the crew that
the skaters were going to be showing up between 3 and 4. He also told us
that we could not wait in the parking lot by the bus cause it was not an
open parking lot. So we waited acoss the street. We waited for a long
time. at 3:30 we saw a cab. it had a man and two ladies. I thought one
of the ladies was Katia. I guessed that maybe she wouldn't be on the bus
since she wasn't doing all the cities. We drove over to the lot with the
busses and watched the people. the lady who I thought was Katia was gone
and soon the other people went in to. I tuned around to see how my son
was doing and I saw a HUGE bus. I started freaking out and said they are
here, they're here. We got out of the car and went over to wait by the
doors. we waited for about 5 min and then they started to come out.
John,david, Jamie, anton and scott were the first off.There was a tour
manager infront of them and he saw us and said maybe after the show guys
we dont have time now. I couldn't believe it. I told him that we were
there waiting since 1:30. Scott and David walked right past the man
(John, Jamie and Anton went inside)and came up to us and said hi. My son
was holding a photo that had Katia, Scott, Kurt and Kristi in it and
Scott said Hi to us and asked Ty what he had. Tyler said a picture,
Scott asked if that was for him and Ty said yes. Scott asked if Ty would
shake his hand and he did (my son shook Soctts hand ) and then he signed
the picture. David asked if he had anything he could sign while Scott
signed the photo. I handed him the 2002-03 program and he signed the
cover. He asked Ty if he could have five but Ty shook his hand instead.
Tyler said see you later to scott and scott said see you tonight. and
they went in. I saw Jenni and I asked her if she wouldnt mind signing my
program and she smiled and said sure. She is so tiny too. She asked if I
was cold and I said yeah. While she was signing the marker wasnt working
well and she said it is so cold here.She patted Ty on the head and said
Hi. I thanked her and she went inside. The man who told us that we'd
have to wait till after the show said that he would get Alexi for us. in
the mean time Todd walked by and so did Yuka. I said hi to Yuka and she
said hi and said hi to Tyler and said you look cold. Tyler just said
yeah. Alexi came up and said hi and he signed the program. He also
comment on the cold. They had all gone in and I had yet to see Katia.
Tom came out and said you guys were right on time huh. I said yeah and
thanked him for letting us hang around. I asked him if that was Katia
who came on the cab and he said he didnt know, that he didnt know who
the skaters are that he hardly knows the rock and roll people. I looked
at my husband and said maybe she's not here yet. Tom said he could still
see someone on the bus with a white hat on but couldn't tell if is was a
guy or a gril. We waited a little longer and sure enought the person in
the white hat was katia. I got a huge smile on my face and I told ty
that Katia was coming (He is only 3 1/2 but he knows who she is and
loves watching her skate when I watch) he smiled and I asked her if she
could sign a picture. She smiled and said yeah. She patted tyler on the
head and said you need a hat. Tyler looked at her and said yep. She
looked at the photo and looked back at me and said where did that dress
come from... I dont remeber that dress at all. I smiled back at her and
while she was signing the picture I asked if she was doing the scarf
program. She smile and said yeah. I told her I loved that program. She
asked if we were going to the show. I told her that we were and she said
good you are going to like it. she gave me the picture and I asked if
she could take a picture. She said sure and I picked up tyler so he
could be in the photo. He got bashfull and hid in his coat. I thanked
her and said see you tonight. she said your welcome and went inside. I
was on cloud nine. I only got the pic with Katia. I would have loved to
get pics with Scott too but it was so cold I was greatful the signed the
stuff and took time to talk to us. Scott was wearing a bright baby blue
coat. David had on gray with blue strip hat and a navy coat. Jenni had
on a cute purple coat. John had on a brown leather coat. Jamie had on a
white coat with her hair in a pony. Katia had on the white hat with her
hair down, a black fitted coat, black pants. They were really cute too
they had little silver loops by the pockets and she had on baby blue gym
shoes. When we got back in the car I told my husband scott that I didnt
see Elena or Kyoko. He didnt know who Kyoko was but he said that Elena
was behind Scott. so I guess they got off the bus like this... John,
David, Anoton, Scott, Elena, Todd S, Jenni, Todd E, Yuka, Alexi and then
Katia. I dont know where Kyoko was. It was such a great time. I didnt
think we'd see them. The time we waited was so worth it It is to bad
that my son wont remeber all the people he had meet. He also me Tara
when he was 1ish and she said that he was so cute. they also didnt allow
pictures then
I will let everyone know how the show went and how the pcis come out. I am crossing my fingers on that. I borrowed a camera in hopes to get good pics tonight.
Now for the show~
We got there an hour before the show cause I like to do the shopping and
stuff. I was kind of dissapointed that they didn't have any pictures for
sale that were not signed by the skater. Usually they have them for $6.
but all they had was the cast photo. No photos of Katia. Oh for anyone
who is thinking about getting the Scott DVD. DO NOT buy it at the show.
it is like 10 dollars more. I was also a little dissapointed in the
insert for Katia. there was no copied autograph like the rest of the
skaters and there was only one photo, it didnt have all the little ones.
while we were sitting a man would come over the speakers and make funny
little cracks like We are having try outs for SOI, next year if you go
to the world figure skating champions we will see your for try outs.
Tonight if you planned on seeing Sonja Henie we are sorry to say that
she will not be joining us.
Scott's in the mood. He did really well, When he came out the arena just
went crazy. He skated his program and then went behind the curtins. I
heard some people behind us say thats it. I just thought in my head,
nope he didnt do a back flip.
The timing is everything was very cute to with Scott and David and the
umbrella. I felt bad for the skaters who had to skate in that puddle.
John and Kyoko really had a nice up beet program with look at little
sister. poor Kyoko had to drag her hair in the puddle doing a spin. I
love her costume.
Todd came out with a big swinging clock thing and all you hear is
ticking, Yuka came out a made it slower and then todd left.
Yuka skated a really nice program. Misty. I never really relized how
good of a skater she is. I guess it makes a differance when you see it
live.
Jamie and David did come away with me. It was such a good program. It
looked really romantic. It kind of reminded me of the skating that G+G
used to do. The slow close skating.
Kyoko, jenni, and Yuka came out and did a cute skit with pink clubs that
were supposed to be hands of a clock in these really big black and white
costumes.
Todd skated his Flamenco. he crowed went crazy. He almost fell a few
times. He just came so close to the edge of the ice. (they cut off a lot
of the ice with the on ice seating, I bet it is hard to get used to a
program and then have to skate it on something so small). That was a
really powerful program.
Then Katia came out to to Red Scarf. They announced her and everyone
cheered. She did so well. I love that program and it was even better
seeing it live. The only bad thing was there we some heads in the way .
She landed everything and looked really happy when she was done.
Jenni and Todd came out and did another time skit.
Elena and Antons let me fall program was nice too. I thought that it was
also powerful. That was the first time I have seen them skate live and
they are really nice to watch.
Todd, John and Kyoko did Jailbird. That was funny.
Alexi had come out durning the jailbird skit. I looked over at my
husband and said how did he get there. I didnt even see him skate by. He
did good. I love his footwork.
TGIF was funny. I love the costumes on the ladies.
Act 2
Work'n time was great. That looked like such a fun program for the guys
to do. I thought the punch in clock was cleaver. I was impressed with
the stuff they were able to do with those brooms.
Jenni and Todds shall we dance was cute. I like how they did the talking
in the beggining. about how they met and stuff. It reminded me of when
katia did the talking for the Reverie program when they had Dasha.
Elena, Kyoko and Yuka came out and did 4x2=8 and skated off so todd
could do his when you come back to me again number. I have to admit I
have never been a big fan of Todd but the programs that he did last
night were just amazing.
Scott came out and that man came over the speaker again and told him
that because of all the cheering that was done for Todd that they ran
out of time to do scotts program. She turned around and skated off the
ice with his head hanging down. All you hear from the audiance was
OOOOOHHHHHHHH.
The sun screen skit was good too. The costums were out going. I dont
really think guys look good in neon colors but what can you do I also
didnt know that David has a tattoo. I wonder what it is. I really liked
when the three guys did the death spiral spin with Yuka. at that point
my camera was dying and I couldnt get a shot.
Kyoko came out with Elena and Anton and acted as a movie usher and
showed them to there "seat" took there popcorn boxes and left.
Elena and Anton did a great job with the Kalinka program. I really liked
the music. It is amazing some of the lifts and spins they could do.
Out came scott again and Katia. Scott was going to skate but the man
told him that it was not time yet and he left.
Katia did a good job with a sunday kind of love. She fell once on a
double lutz but then did another one later in the program and landed it
nicely.
The cast came out in the black and white costumes and skated a bit and
then left with Alexi on the ice. Everyone was clapping and cheering
along with the music. He did really well.
Jamie and Davids ballroom was the best. I love how they added in the
talking durning the program like at the begginging when he is waiting
for her to come and "dance" and then you hear a toilet flush. The
audiacne seemed to like it too.
Finally poor scott did his program. It almost made me cry when he
started skating but he acted like he was holding a childs hand. I dont
think I have ever seen Scott do a more moving program.
Finally it was over. I didnt know that Katia would be skating in the
program. I was shocked when I realized that it was her. She had on a the
white dress that looked like Jamies. It had a dimond cut on the tummy
area. I was so mad cause both of the batteries in my cameras had died so
I have no pictures of the final.
It was a great show. I havent been to one in a year and I have to admit
the last one I saw I was dissapointed, but last nights was great.
As for my Pics. I am so mad. I got a lot of nice ones with my digital
EXCEPT it would figure that all the ones I took of Katia were blurry. I
have not idea what will come out on my other camera until I have them
developed. I hope something good came out.
