STARS ON ICE (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Ekaterina skated to Awakening in the first act. Although her costume is different from what we are used to seeing, it was still elegant and looked great on her. She skated very cleaning. Her skating is very fluid and she is very light on the ice. She had her hair picked up. It seems like she is trying to grow it out and it looked like there were some highlights in it although it might have been the lights. I was on the 12th row from the ice with good seats but I was not on the ice.
She also skated very well to Heartburn in Act II. She skated the number cleanly and landed her jumps. For this number she had her hair half picked up (part of it was hanging down). She also skated in a group number with the other female skaters where she was wearing a hot pink outfit with an apron (the 3 other skaters wore the same outfit but in different colors) kind of like a "Stepford wife" costume. The women skated with/around Steven Cousins. Halfway through it they removed those housewife costumes and revealed black dresses. Katia also skated in between certain numbers dressed in red and wearing an eye mask. In the finale, she wore ice blue/silver dress. It looked great on her.
Without a doubt, Katia has the most expressive face. You can see her emotions on the ice. She seemed very happy to be there skating although the show itself lacks that special dynamic that it had when Scott, Kristi, Kurt, Rosalyn, and Katia/G&G were skating. Back then, you could tell there was a family atmosphere, a very special relationship. Now, it seems more like individual performances. Nevertheless, I would go back just to watch Katia perform. By the way, she is completely back in shape. She is definitely in her usual thin frame. She looked beautiful.
