STARS ON ICE (Bridgeport)

We went to the Bridgeport show on Sunday and have to agree with others: it was a great show! Katia skated beautifully; I didn't like the dress for Awakening when I saw photos posted on theinternet, but in person, it was beautiful! She is quite a comic actress during the flea's funeral! Something I noticed again about her is her posture and her ability to use her arms with so much feeling.
Daria was sitting on the ice with Artur Jr across the ice from us, and would run on and off between programs. She seemed to enjoy herself by the smiles we could see; Alexei threw his sunglasses to her during his last number and she put them on to watch the rest of his program.
Katia's parents were sitting just a little bit in front of us with Liza and Artur Dmitriev's wife (I can't remember her name). Liza is so adorable! She seems to be a very happy girl. Katia's parents look great!
Just an aside to the reviews on Katia, I really enjoyed Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman this year. I had never really taken notice of them before, but enjoyed their programs very much at SOI. I would be far too much of a coward to be the female partner of a pair team! There were a lot of lifts and moves that were so fast and looked so spectacular.
I meant to relay this story that happened in Bridgeport the other night. When Katia came out on the ice to perform Awakening, in the moment of silence just before the music started, I heard at least four people in my section murmer "She's beautiful!". One was a man behind me who had never been to an ice show (he was there to please his wife). He was very impressed with her program; I think a new skating fan was born!
