Iced Energy (Nottingham, UK)

Hey Su-jan and everyone else!
I am on such a high at the moment after the Nottingham experience...the fulfilment of a true lifelong dream .
It was so great to finally meet Su jan and Stephan (who I must say will make an excellent celebrity photographer should he wish to switch careers hehe) and also rita and the australian Krew member!
Su-jan and the rest have written such detailed descriptions about the programmes themselves...I feel i dont need to, but Ill give my 2 bits worth.
Katia;s programmes were classic katia...elegant, smooth and graceful movements...with unfortunately poor jumping. I completely agree that she should just not attempt some of these jumps...her on ice charisma and interesting choreography are more than sufficient to pull off any programme.
I was so lucky for heartburn (and su-jan too i imagine since she was right behind) as katia did a lot of the last poses and spins and smiling communicating with the audience stuff RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!! It was like she was talking to us solely...hehehe You can only imagine how delighted I was.
I havnt uploaded my pictures or videos as yet, but when i do i will definitely share them with everyone. Though i expect the skating pics arent very good.
Ilia was brilliant...the man is a born entertainer...and such a good skater...he only had little trouble on 2 jumps I think. he was the first skater I saw that night. Before the show...i was just looking to my side ( i was sitting right near one of the back stage entrances) and who should I see but Ilia warming up! I almost died with excitment haha. He was doing some stretches, jumps and running up and down!
The Kerrs were brilliant too! I really love them, such warm and friendly people and talented skaters with a lot of potential. Sujan and I got to meet them and have a nice chat.
Sale and Pelletier...hmm...never been a big fan...they were good but so wooden and mechanical. No real connection which is surprising since theyre married. They werent very nice when we met them after the show either, quite short.
Yuka Sato was a dream...I had no idea she was so good! She landed all her jumps and did her throw jump with jason better than jamie and david IMO! and they have distinct chemistry too. I couldnt get to meet her though after.
Brian Boitano was good...very good considering his age etc. Very fast skater.
Cant say a lot about the rest.
i really enjoyed the group numbers...very fun to watch. There was a hilarious piece with John Kerr and David Pelletier.
Oh I should mention, in the last group number...Ilia was so sweet, the minute Katia came on...he just beamed and you could see how proud he was of her. Needless to say he had eyes only for her the whole while...watching only her as she skated with some of the other ladies.
Finally...meeting Katia...aaah. I was soo happy to be able to do that. You can see me just grinning stupidly in the pictures su -jan posted haha. She was very nice, though clearly both she and Ilia were in a rush to leave. I think i said something about how glad I was to finally meet her and that we were really big fans! She said oh thank you so much. I asked her if she was having fun here and she said...yes its very nice. She sounds exactly as i expected. She is isnt as tiny as I expected. Jamie S was much smaller.
She is beautiful though...a lovely smile and well Im so grateful we met her and Ilia.
Ilia btw stayed back the latest...taking pictures with many screaming girl fans! the rest went off earlier. This was very nice of him I thought, especially since both he and katia were very clearly in a rush.
anyway sujan thank stephan for all the lovely pics...and i had a lot of fun meeting you and sharing this experience!
