Here is my report from Holday Celebration on Ice in Las Vegas.
This is a first for me as you all know from my previoupost on this page.
It was being recorded to be played on TV on Christmas day so we stayed behind to watch the retakes so we got a really good look at Katia. She did two routines and in the first one she fell doing I think a triple toe loop. I am so annoyed that I forgot to take a pen to take some notes so this is from memory. In her second routine she skated to a live song by Anita Baker and poor Katia did not skate very well. This routine was the last one before the finale so as soon as the finale was over Katia had to go and get changed and come back and do that routine all over again. They did the whole thing live singer and all. It took Katia a couple of times to get it right. She would start and then mess it up again and they would stop it and start again. It must have been hard on the poor singer having to sing all over again. Then after she got that right she had to go and get changed and do the retakes for the first routine. Meantime we watched a few other retakes. Then Katia came back and had to just reskate the jump including 15 second before and 15 seconds after. It took three goes to do it without falling and I think in the end she reduced it to a double so she would not fall. So we sure got to see plenty of Katia skating. wich was beautiful. She really did not do much hard stuff but what she did was beautiful to watch. I canot remember what she was wearing. Everybody says she is so tiny but on the ice by herself it does not show. The whole thing was just an amazing experience for me.
We did not get home until 1AM because we have not got our USA drivers license yet so we had to catchthe bus.
As I said an amazing experience for me.
